TO THE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
WHEREAS, the Legislature has designated the eleventh day of
November as the day for the observance of ARMISTICE or VETERANS DAY, and under the provisions of Section 3-3-7, Mississippi Code of 1972, is a legal holiday in the State of Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Section 25-1-97, Mississippi Code of 1972, provides that for any state holiday fixed under Section 3-3-7, Mississippi Code of 1972, falling on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday may, in the discretion of the executive head or governing body of a state agency, be utilized in lieu of the legal holiday.
THEREFORE, all officers and employees of the State of Mississippi are authorized and empowered, at the discretion of the executive head of the department or agency, to close their respective offices in observance of the holiday on
