Secretary of State releases 2009 Municipal Elections Report

Jackson, MS—As required by law, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann is releasing the 2009 Municipal Elections Report, which details observations noted in during the municipal election.  A total of 32 observers were dispatched to 21 municipalities throughout the State.  Their specific findings are included in the report.

“I urge all Mississippians to read this report closely,” says Secretary Hosemann.  “We have detailed serious elections issues and named specific locations throughout the State within the Municipal Elections Report.  Obviously, abuses exist in the elections process.  Only through public knowledge can we combat this growing problem.  In the end, voters must establish the credibility of the election system in their own precinct.”

A copy of the 2009 Municipal Election Report can be viewed on our website at www.sos.ms.gov/elections/elections.asp. or, by clicking here.
